Tuesday and Wednesday I was in a 4th grade classroom for my teaching methods classes. During the 45-minute free write, I sat down with a kid who hates to free write.
His excuses range from “I never know what to write about.” To “That’s embarrassing to talk about stuff I like.” And “I don’t know how to make up stories.”
I did a brainstorming exercise and an outline and managed to pull a half page from him in 15 minutes:
It was a great feeling.

school teachers are great inspirations.
I remember that it was a Mr. Sterling who made me finish my spanish literature exam after he grabbed it from me and said “Come on, you’ve got more to offer than this” and refused to recieve my exam until the time period expired, I wrote a lot more in that exam and thusly got the praise of my spanish teacher who said to me later on.
“No one made that connection between the texts, I hope this is a true ability of yours and not a simple coincidence”
